NOVEMBERS DOOM Apologize For Illinois Concert Cancellation
May 14, 2005Chicago doomsters NOVEMBERS DOOM have posted the following message on their official web site:
"We would like to fist take this opportunity to apologize to our friends in CRY FOR DAWN, and anyone who went to see us perform [on April 29 in Round Lake, Illinois]. We made a last minute decision to cancel the show due to illness and it was always our intention to play the show. We waiting hoping the condition would change, and as the time grew closer, things worsened. We are very sorry, and we will make this up to CRY FOR DAWN, as well as our fans.
"If you attended the Minneapolis Mayhem fest last weekend, and saw NOVEMBERS DOOM perform, you saw something rare! The same illness that caused us to miss the last show was still affecting vocalist Paul, and he could not attend the festival as well. The band decided it would be better to play then to cancel, so Larry jumped in and covered the vocal duties for the evening. He did a great job, and the fans were pleased. Again, thank you all for being supportive, and we will be making our way back to Minnesota to perform for you as a full band!
"Thanks very much to John and everyone who worked at, and organized the Minneapolis Mayhem Metalfest. They all were very courteous and professional with us, and we had a very good time. I know that John has been getting a lot of flak from naysayers who are criticising him for the SODOM cancellation and stuff, but all I can say is that he handled everything professionally and properly with us from day one. He was prompt with returning emails, taking care of our needs, and doing whatever he could to make things happen. I highly doubt he would risk public embarassment and controversy by not doing his job properly, like some are trying to claim. We'd be quite happy to perform for him again and I wish him the best of luck in the future with other promotions. The fest was really cool and I'm sorry to those of you who had to miss it, as it appeared to be a good time for all who attended!
"NOVEMBERS DOOM has been added to the Day of the Equinox festival [at the Opera House] in Toronto, Canada on October 14th." Other groups confirmed to appear at the festival include WOODS OF YPRES, GREEN CARNATION, AGALLOCH and UNEXPECT.
NOVEMBERS DOOM's new album, "The Pale Haunt Departure", came out in March via The End Records. The follow-up to 2002's "To Welcome The Fade" was mixed by Swedish producer/musician Dan Swanö (BLOODBATH, EDGE OF SANITY, NIGHTINGALE) and was mastered by James Murphy (DEATH, OBITUARY, TESTAMENT). Cover artwork was designed by Attila Kis of Demateria.
